About The Ski S'Kool Program

The Ski S'Kool Program is a learn-to-ski program for elementary school age children.

The Bukley Vally Cross Country Ski Club has been running a school program for over fifteen years.

Lessons are offered to grades K-7.  Classes can be booked for skiing with lessons, skiing without lessons, and/or snowshoeing.

This is an inclusive program: all students welcome, special needs students participate with their class and we encourage all students to participate to the level they are comfortable with.

Our club has been able to supplement younger students with skis and boots to enable any and all students to participate.

During the 2017-2018 season more than 30 classes from 6 different schools participated:

  • BVCS
  • Moricetown
  • Muheim Elementary
  • St. Joseph’s Elementary
  • Telkwa Elementary
  • Walnut Park Elementary

Most classes skied at least twice with greater than half of the groups skiing three times for a total of over 1800 student visits to the nordic centre.
